Dr. Sarah and the Village of Mystery
Dr. Sarah and the Village of Mystery

Dr. Sarah sets out on a new adventure to bring vital medicine to the children of a far-away village. Soon after arrival, however, she discovers things are not quite as they should be...
In this retro-style game players navigate exciting challenges within the Village of Mystery. It's an addictive adventure that combines problem solving, sentence building and story-telling. Dr. Sarah is a fun way to help primary aged children develop skills in literacy, problem solving, story-telling and STEM.

How Dr. Sarah Works
Dr Sarah and the Village of Mystery is a platforming, puzzle game that uses a point and click interface to build sentences to solve puzzles.
By the end of the game, each player will have created their own comic book made up of screenshots and actions taken in the game.
It’s the perfect game for parents to play with their children as it encourages collaborative problem solving and discussion. Parents can also read the story they have created with their child after each level.
There are no deaths, and no violence. Dr. Sarah uses her skill and intellect to overcome difficulties, not her fists!
Language Skills
Build sentences to tell Dr Sarah what to do. Sentences are made of short, common words so this is particularly well suited for anyone new to learning English.
Problem Solving
Find creative solutions to problems in the game. Puzzles can be solved in more than one way and there are no negative consequences for incorrect attempts; this encourages trial and error without the fear of losing progress in the game.
Story Telling
Story Telling
Create a story as you play. Dr Sarah’s actions in the game are recorded and turned into a short story at the end of each level. Read the story back afterwards, remembering what you did when you played. This can be done alone but is best when shared with a friend or parent.
Co-operative Play
Co-operative Play
Dr Sarah works well when played with a friend or parent. Take it in turns to play and share ideas about how to solve the puzzles. This is great for two children of similar ages but also works well when a parent is playing along. Promotes dialogue, discussion and teamwork rather than competitive play.
Hand eye coordination
Dr Sarah also requires players to run, jump and click on items with the mouse. Develop hand-eye co-ordination without the risk of losing the game. If Dr Sarah falls off a platform, you get to try again an infinite number of times. There are no lives to lose.
Encourages Exploration
With hidden items to find and secrets to uncover, Dr Sarah encourages players to explore and replay levels later on. Even when the game is complete, there may be more to uncover in hidden parts of the levels!
